hoggs and 3,743 cast ewes & rams at their weekly sale at Longtown
on Thursday 7th January, 2010.
Even allowing for the adverse weather conditions across the country,
Longtown Mart endeavoured to procure as much stock as possible for
their full ring of buyers present.
A smaller show of cattle was forward

The 3,781 prime hoggs forward were short of requirements and met
a flying trade. The 1,078 under 36 kilos averaged 195.7p and the
2,704 over 36 kilos averaged 210.4p. The overall average was 207p
per kilo. Top price achieved was 301p per kilo and £135.50
