The Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers Mart PLC had forward 34 prime cattle, 21 young bulls, 24 over thirty month cattle, 4,234 prime lambs and 3,700 cast ewes & rams at their weekly sale at Longtown on Thursday 15th August 2013.

Prime cattle were a much plainer show for quality and saw trade similar on the week. Top price to 253.5p for a Limousin bullock shown by J.C. & D. Nicholson & Son, The Gill, then closely followed at 252.5p from A. & W.J. Taylor & Son, Dashwellgreen. Charolais heifers sold to 226.5p from K.W. Coulthard, Low Hallburn.

The 4,235 prime lambs were a similar show with more meated lambs about met a fast selling trade with averages unchanged on the week. Overall average 185p per kilo. Top price of £135 per head for Texels from Carran and to 244p per kilo for Texels from Chapel (Hebson).
