SALE OF STORE & BREEDING CATTLE
Including Stock Dispersal of 20 Lim/Sim cows with calves from Messrs
also 20 Lim stock cows with Lim calves from Messrs Forrester, Howberry.
The Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers Mart had forward 124
store cattle and 84 breeding cattle at their fortnightly sale on Tuesday
8th July 2008.
Store cattle sold well and met a good trade throughout the sale.
Top price was £620 for a Limousin heifer from R J Harding,

An excellent show of cows and calves met a flying trade with a
packed ringside of buyers, both local and from a distant ensuring
all vendors went home happy. The main content of the sale came
from two dispersals from the Messrs Ivinson, Bankshead Farm, Brampton
and also T J & S Forrester, Howberry, Blackford. Bankshead
averaged £875 and Howberry averaged £1157.
Top price was £1520 (2) for an excellent Limousin cow with
Belgain Blue calf from Connon Farms and also for a Limousin cow
with Limousin calf from Howberry.
