On Friday 27th September 2013, The Cumberland & Dumfriesshire
Farmers Mart P.L.C., in conjunction with The Kintyre Agricultural
Society held its Annual Sale of 98 Rams and Ram Lambs together
with the Second Annual Sale of 396 Female Breeding Sheep.
Buyers were
selective in all classes with only the best quality lots easily
cashed, with the rest steady in line with most auction sales.
The sale was topped at £580 twice, firstly for a Suffolk
shearling ram from Messrs Cameron, Gartvaigh and also for a Texel
two shear ram from Messrs McKendrick, High Dalroich.
Females were
a mixed show for quality and that was reflected in the trade with
only the best end easily sold.
The sale was topped at £98 for Mule Gimmers from Messrs
Turner, Kildalloig, followed at £95 for Blackface Gimmers
from Messrs McArthur, Arnicle.
