The Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers Mart had forward 540 store
cattle at their fortnightly sale on Tuesday 12th May, 2009.
The cattle
sold well to a packed ring of buyers both local and distant. Top
was £880 for a Charolais bullocks from JA & E Dinwoodie,
Archerbeck, heifers to £840 for Limousin from J Robertson & Son,
The Becks.
There were a number of annual consignments including 40
Aberdeen Angus from Birchertimberhill which sold to £540, Belgian
Blues from D’Mainholm selling to £690, Blondes from Barnglieshead
to £670 and Belgian Blues from Highparkfoot selling to £820.
