The Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers Mart held their fortnightly
sale at Longtown on Tuesday 19th July, 2011.
A small show of 103
store cattle was on offer and met an outstanding trade, dearest trade
seen for sometime. British Blue bullocks topped at £920 from
C.T. & J. Wigham & Sons, Hethermill and
Limousin heifers to £970 from E.J. Underwood, Haggistone Holm.
Breeders
saw a buoyant trade throughout and topped at £1,780
and £1,720 from G.N. Thompson, Yew Tree Farm for Limousin heifers
with Limousin bull calves.
