STORE & BREEDING CATTLE SALE REPORT


The Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers Mart had a catalogue entry of 679 Store Cattle and Suckler Calves at their Special Sale at Longtown on Tuesday 28th February, 2012.

A fantastic trade was met throughout with the sale average being £193.42 up on the same sale last year. Many buyers went home empty handed and more could have been sold.

Prices peaked at £1,370 for a British Blue bullock from G.P. & E.A. Coates, Beckhall, this being a new centre record. Heifers topped at £1,250 for a Charolais from W. & A. Forster, The Nook.
