Sale ringThe Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers Mart P.L.C. had forward 2,029 breeding sheep at their weekly sale on Tuesday 29th May, 2012.

Another excellent show of sheep and with more buyers present all classes met an excellent trade.

Texel hoggs with singles sold to a top of £100 (2) from South Mains; Greyface £100 Yew Tree Farm, £90 Briggle and Yew Tree, £84 Woodhouse; Suffolk £80 Whitstone Hill.

Greyface hoggs with twins to £61 Stoneflatt, £60 Woodhouse.

Shearlings with singles to £74 for Texels from Bushfield; Hill Cheviot £53 Bayles.

Shearlings with twins to £65.50 and £65 for Greyface from New Hummerbecks, £64 Aimshaugh; Texel £65 Bushfield.

Ewes with singles to £65 for Texels from Bushfield; North Country Cheviot £55 Gospel Hall; Greyface £56 Brewery House; Hill Cheviot £53 Bayles; Blackface £47 Bayles.

Ewes with twins to £66, £64 and £61 for Greyface from Aimshaugh; Cheviot Mule £57.50 Whitstone Hill; North Country Cheviot £55.50 Gospel Hall; Hill Cheviot £55.50 Girnwood; Blackface £47 Bayles, £45 Bridgeford; Kendal Rough £43.50 Low Northsceugh.
