STORE & BREEDING SHEEP REPORT


Sale ringThe Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers Mart P.L.C. had forward 1,089 breeding sheep at their weekly sale on Tuesday 19th June, 2012.

With buyers plentiful and another great show of mostly hoggs with lambs, all classes were again in excellent demand.

Hoggs with singles to £88 for Texels from Maerdy Farm, others £85 Low Stanley, £81 Aimshaugh; Suffolk cross £78, £75 (x3) Low Stanley; Greyface £78 (x2) Porterstown.
Hoggs with twins to £77 for Texels from Old Hay, others £76 Maerdy Farm; Greyface £74, £72.50 Stoneflatt.

Shearlings with twins to £65 for Texels from Maerdy Farm.

Ewes with singles to £61.50 for Texels from Murraythwaite and Greyface from Eastfield of Wiston; Cheviot £54 Redhouse.

Ewes with twins to £66.50 for Texels from Murraythwaite, £65 Redhouse; Greyface £64 Eastfield of Wiston, £63 Low Old Shield; Suffolk cross £64 Low Old Shield; Cheviot £55 Redhouse.

Feeding ewes to £48.50 Linton House. Store hoggs to £48.50 Linton House. Store lambs £54.50 Linton House.
