The Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers Mart PLC had forward 8,081 Store Lambs (including 3,053 Cheviots and 1,346 Blackfaces) at their Sale at Longtown on Tuesday 9th October, 2012.

Sale ringAnother fine entry attracted more buyers with trade much sharper on the week. Top of £60.50 for Suffolk crosses from Leahill; Texel £60 Hyndlea; Charollais £60 Redhouse; North Country Cheviot £57 Clifton on Bowmont, £55 Effgill; Half Bred £56 Glendearg; Greyface £55 Viewley Farm; Lleyn £52 Windyknowe.

Cast ewes to £58.50 Riddell Farms.

A top show of Cheviots and Blackfaces met a great trade from a full ring of buyers. Top for Cheviots of £59 Twislehope, £57 Glendinning, £56 Carlenrigg, £55.50 Wardlaw.

Top in Blackie section was £54 Edges Green, £50 Townshields, £49 Megdale.
