STORE & BREEDING SHEEP REPORT


The Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers Mart PLC had forward 100 Ewes with Lambs at foot, also 300 Store Hoggs and Feeding Ewes at their weekly sale at Longtown on Tuesday 16th April, 2013.

Sale ringStore hoggs sold to a top of £93.50 and £86 for Texels from Greenbeck, others £73.50 Bankside; Greyface £63.50, £49.50 Lawesknowe; Blackface £57.50 Lawesknowe, £48.50 Upperburnmouth; Cheviot £57.50 Lawesknowe, £49.50 Burnhouse.

Feeding ewes to £59.50 Burnhouse, cast rams to £84.50 Lowgreenends.  Geld ewe hoggs to £80 Stonehall.

Ewes with lambs were forward to a packed ring of buyers and more could have been easily sold to vendors advantage, especially outfits of younger sheep and stronger lambs.
