STORE & BREEDING SHEEP REPORT


After last weeks buoyant trade, The Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers Mart P.L.C., had forward another large show of 1,308 ewes with lambs at foot and 302 store hoggs at their weekly sale at Longtown on Tuesday 7th May 2013.

Sale ringWith grass growing buyers were more numerous, trade sharper on the week especially for strong outfits. Top of £67 for Texel ewes with twins from Barnbackle.

Store hoggs very dear selling to a top of £89 for Texels from Cronklea, others £70 Leahill. Cast ewes to £63 Oliver Road. Ewe hoggs to £66 for Greyface from Croft Cottage who also sold Texels at £64 and Blackfaces at £51.
