STORE & BREEDING SHEEP REPORT


The Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers Mart PLC had forward 2,169 store lambs and breeding ewes at Longtown on Tuesday 6th August 2013.

Sale ringA marvelous show of lambs met a fast selling trade with all classes up £3 on the week and 50p up on the year. Mule lambs met a strong trade selling to £64.50 Parsonshields.

Top of £69 for Texels from Border Rigg and Fairgirth, others £67.50 Hawthorns, £66.50 Mossband House; Suffolk £67, £60 Satchells; Charollais £63 Haswellsykes; Lleyn £53 Dolphinston; Swaledale £25 Stonehall.

Breeding ewes were again easy to sell to a top of £102 for Suffolk cross Mule shearlings from Linton House who also sold correct ewes at £88.
