The Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers Mart PLC had forward 5,580 store lambs at Longtown on Tuesday 10th September 2013.

Sale ringA larger show and again plenty of buyers, trade very similar to previous week.

Top of £68 for Texels from The Underwood (Story), others £67, £65 Rinnion Hills, £65 Quarryfield; Suffolk £66, £64 Routin Lynn, £61.50 High Lovelady Shield, £61 Newbiggin; Beltex £63.50 Arnmannoch; Charollais £59.50 Newbiggin; Greyface £58.50 Hepple Hill, £56.50 Howburn, £54.50 Crindledyke; Cheviot Mule £57 Cooms; Lleyn £54.50 Dolphinston; Swaledale £42 Merryknowe.

Breeding ewes to £80 Linton House.

The first Special Sale of 2,092 Hill & North Cheviots and 829 Blackfaces attracted many buyers, including several from a distance, trade was on par with last year for quality lambs.

Top North Cheviots was £65 Lairdmannoch Estate, others £63, £61 Satchells, £58.50 East Murton.

Hill Cheviots to £59 Winterhope, £55, £54 Hopsrig, £52.50 Meikledale.

Blackface to £55 Wanwood Hill, £48 Glenbeg, £46 Balmurrie and Whitslade.
