Longtown on Thursday 19th April 2012.
A smaller show of prime cattle, but still plenty of quality on offer
and trade remained buoyant topping at 227.5p for a Limousin heifer
from A. & W.J. Taylor & Son, Dashwell Green purchased by Mr
J. Little, Charolais to 226.5p shown by J. & N. Blaylock & Son,
Hallburn. British Blue bullocks sold to 225.5p from Messrs R. Neill,
Upper Tinwald and 224.5p from J.C. & D. Nicholson & Son, The

After a week of dropping trade around the country, Longtown still
managed to attract an impressive show of 4,542 prime hoggs,
which in line with this week's trend averaged 198p (210p in SQQ)
with 1,474 hoggs being over 46 kilos!! Best export weight hoggs and
small light weight hoggs were easily sold and short of buyers requirements.
The sale was topped at 239p per kilo for Blackfaces from Mid Harrietsfield
