The Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers Mart held their fortnightly sale of Store Cattle at Dumfries on Monday 17th May 2010, when there was 298 head forward. Trade remains firm, buyers continue to be in a positive frame of mind.

DUMFRIES BREEDING CATTLE

At their Special May Sale of Breeding Cattle at Dumfries on Monday 17th May 2010, The Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers Mart had forward 12 Beef Breeding Bulls, 170 Cows and Heifers with Calves and 317 Bulling Heifers. A massive crowd congregated and trade was flying for all classes.

Cows and Heifers with Calves were a genuine show of mainly home bred cows and heifers and met a superb trade, selling to a top of £2,400 for a Limousin cross heifer with a bull calf from Messrs W. Wallace & Sons, Fingland, Dalry, Kirkcudbrightshire.
