Dumfries Store Cattle Sale Report

C & D Auction Marts Ltd held their fortnightly sale of store cattle and suckled calves in Dumfries, on Monday 14th October 2019, with 689 forward.

Prior to the sale the show sponsored by Soltyre ltd and was ably judged by David Morgan, Hereford who picked out a British Blue Heifer from Neil Shuttleworth, Drumburn as the best single animal. Home-bred, May born and scaling 290kg sold at £930(320.7p/kg) for the McKelvey children, Burnside.

Best pen of Limousin bullocks from A & M Fitzsimmon, Tregallon (March born) realising £830.     

277 Spring born calves met brisk competition with trade being similar on the year.
