A very small show of prime cattle due to the Christmas holidays saw no difference
in trade on the week. Top price to 227.5p for a Charolais heifer from T. Armstrong & Son,

A tremendous festive show of 7,387 prime lambs were forward on an
atrocious day to a full ring of buyers keen for sheep to kill over
the weekend into the new year. For all those that made the effort
to get lambs here they were rewarded with an excellent trade throughout,
with the overall sale average of 194.6p per kilo (SQQ 198.6p per
kilo). Top was £118 per head for Texels from Snowsgreen with
a top per kilo of 258p for Texels from Messrs Bell, Hillcrest.
