The Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers Mart had forward a small
show of 76 Store Cattle and 53 Breeding Cattle at sale on Tuesday
15th February, 2011.
A small show of store cattle upheld recent high
rates, selling to a top of £765 (x3) for 10 month old Charolais
bullocks from Shankbridge End Farms, British Blue heifers to £745
from Redgatehead.
A good show of breeding cattle saw a packed ring
of buyers in attendance which ensured a flying trade throughout.
Limousin heifers with calves topped at £1,850 and £1,420
from J.W. & E.S. Woodmass,
Howard House. Limousin cows with calves to £1,400 and £1,300
from T. Hutton, How Farm. In calf heifers to £1,120 (x2) and £1,050
(x2) for Limousin from W.T. Bendle & Son, The Nook, Charolais
to £1,000 Redgatehead.
