The Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers Mart had forward 3,234 store & breeding sheep at their sale at Longtown on Tuesday 1st February, 2011.

Store hoggs were in great demand, selling to a top of £80 for Beltex from Allfornaught; Suffolk £77.50 Broomhills, £72 Shaw Cottage, £70 Cottage; Texel £75 Meikle Richorn and Silloans; Greyface £71.50 Haithwaite, £67.50 Solwaybank; North Country Cheviot £70 Adderston Shiels; Charollais £67 Blacksmiths Cottage; Half Bred £64.50 Adderston Shiels; Hill Cheviot £63.50 Whitchester, £60.50 Falnash; Blackface £60 Albierigg, £57 Edges Green, £56.50 Haithwaite; Lleyn £58.80 Artnoch. Cast ewes to £80 Meikle Richorn. Cast rams to £79 Low Old Shield.

In lamb ewes met a firm trade with Texel shearlings to £135 from Ashkirktown who also sold in lamb ewes at £135 for Suffolk cross, £130 for Texels, £128 for Greyfaces and £80 for Blackfaces.

Ewe hoggs to £73 for Texels from the Height who also sold Lleyns at £68.
