The Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers Mart had forward 2,834 store & breeding sheep at their sale at Longtown on Tuesday 15th February, 2011.

Store were dearer with plenty of buyers. Top of £78 for Texels from Hazelbank, £76 Cowrigg, £74 Stormont; Roussin £73.50 Hazelbank; Suffolk £70 Cowrigg; North Country Cheviot £68.20 Meikle Whitriggs; Cheviot Mule £67.80 Low Old Shield; Blackface £65 Laverhay, £58.50 Ridley Stokoe, £58 Balmurrie; Greyface £64.50 Ridley Stokoe, £63.80 Flatt and Raby Grange; Charollais £63.80 Rabygrange; Hill Cheviot £62.50 Lymiecleugh; Swaledale £51 Brigg.

Cast ewes to £92 for Suffolks from Hazelbank; Texel £80 Linton House; Greyface £66 Kirkton Hill. Hill types to £61.50 for Cheviots from Meikle Whitriggs; Blackface £54 Lowes; Swaledale £53.50 Cooks House. Cast rams to £75 Cocklawfoot.

A larger show of in lambers were an excellent trade. Top price of £120 for correct Texel crosses from Crairieknowe who also sold correct Greyface at £111; Blackface £87 Linton House; Jacob £65 The Wynd. Geld ewe hoggs to £100 for Texels from Stormont.
