The Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers Mart had forward 1,226 store hoggs and ewes with lambs at foot at their sale at Longtown on Tuesday 5th April, 2011.

Top price of £103.50 and £95 (x2) for Texels from The Height; Blackface £84.50 Haithwaite; Suffolk £84 and £80 Greenshields; Cheviot £83.50 Greenshields; Beltex £83 Cottage Farm, £80.50 Greenshields; Greyface £69.50 Cottage and Gallowberry; Herdwick £56.50 Greenshields.

Ewes with lambs (492) were forward in larger numbers and met a superb trade with many buyers present. Top of £72 for Suffolk cross shearlings with singles from The Edge who also sold Texels at £70, others £67 Glasson.

Ewes with singles to £66 for Suffolks from Raby Grange who also sold Texels at £65 and Cheviot Mules at £64; Greyface £60 Timpendean, £58 Banks.

Ewes with twins to £68 and £65.50 for Texels from Timpendean who sold Cheviot Mules at £65.50 and Greyface at £60, others £59 and £58 The Banks who also sold Lleyn at £59.
