The Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers Mart had forward 1,501 ewes with lambs at foot and store hoggs at their sale at Longtown on Tuesday 12th April, 2011.

Store hoggs sold at extreme rates.
Top price of £117.50 for Texel crosses from Haithwaite, £117 Raby Grange; Beltex £115 Raby Grange, £108.50 Black House; Suffolk £101 Reavely Green, £99.50 Home Farm, £93 Watling Bungalow; Greyface £84.50 Watling Bungalow, £84 Reavely Green, £81 Black House; Blackface £81 Watling Bungalow; Hill Cheviot £80.50 Breconside; Herdwick £77.50 Rowhead. Cast ewes to £94, £91.50 Watling Bungalow.

Ewes with lambs (709) more numbers, trade dearer. Shearlings sold to £73 for Texels with singles from Timpendean, who also sold twins at £66.

Correct ewes with twins to £81 for Texels from Old Police House; Cheviot Mule £68 Little Cloak Farm, £65 Timpendean; Suffolk £65 Carpet Farm; Greyface £62.50 Station Road, £62 Raby Grange, £60.50 Old Police House; Blackface £48.50 Allensgreen.

Correct ewes with singles to £75 for Cheviot Mules from Little Cloak; Texel £64.50 Raby Grange; Suffolk £63.50 Carpet Farm; Greyface £58 Bateyshield; Blackface £48.50 Bateyshield; Swaledale £44 Low Broom.

In lamb ewes to £134 for Texels from Home Farm who also sold Suffolk cross at £126.
