The Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers Mart had forward 1,284 ewes with lambs at foot and store hoggs at their sale at Longtown on Tuesday 19th April, 2011.

Ewes and lambs (976) were larger numbers and with more buyers trade was dearer. Top was £80 for Texel shearling with twins from Timperdean. Cheviot Mules to £69 Little Cloak. Shearlings with Singles to £78 for Texels from Timperdean; Greyfaces to £73.50 Raby Grange & Cheviot Mules £72 Little Cloak.

Correct ewes with singles £77.50 for Charollais from Sleetbeck; Texels £76 Timperdean, £74 Flex; Suffolk x £70.50 Farmers Close; Cheviot Mules £75 Sleetbeck; Cheviots £68.50 Raby Grange; Greyfaces £65 Flex; Blackfaces £41 Old hall. Correct ewes with twins £73.50 for Texels from Farmers Close, £70 High House & Timperdean; Charollais £73 Sleetbeck; Suffolks £72.50 Farmers Close; Cheviot Mules £67 Raby Grange; Cheviots £70 Farmers Close; Greyfaces £65 Timperdean; Zwartbles £56 Raby Grange and Blackfaces £41 Old Hall.

Geld Greyface hoggs to £77.50 Blackhouse.

Store hoggs sold to £96.50 for Suffolks & Texels from Southmains, others to £80.50 Reagill Grange and £80 Jardine Hall; Hill Cheviots £74.50 Breconside.
