STORE & BREEDING SHEEP REPORT


The Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers Mart had forward 2,442 Store Lambs at their Weekly Sale at Longtown on Tuesday 2nd August, 2011.

Store lambs saw more buyers, trade much sharper. Top of £76 for Suffolks from Haswellsyke who also sold Texels at £75.50, others to £74.50 Eyecott, £71.50 Smiddy Hill, £71.50 Black House; Greyface £72.80 Taylorburn, £67.20 Knarr, £65 Stonehall.

Included in the sale was the Annual Consignment of 550 Texel lambs from Mr J. Jardine, Fairgirth, Dalbeattie. His top price was £70.50 to average £63.64, a rise of £4.14 on the year.
