STORE & BREEDING SHEEP REPORT


The Cumberland & Dumfriesshire Farmers Mart PLC had forward 748 breeders and 2,388 store lambs at Longtown on Tuesday 20th August 2013.

Sale ringBreeders were a selective trade with the best in demand. Top of £112 and £100 for Texel shearlings from Stoneygill; Greyface £95 Devonshire Rise, £50 Main Street. Ewes to £94 for Texels from Linton House; Greyface £88 Cardew Hall; Hill Cheviot £64, £61 Sorbie. Suffolk cross ewe lambs to £70 Barnsallie.

Store lambs were a better quality show, trade again sharper.

Top of £71 for Beltex from The Park, others to £70 Randalholm; Texel £69 Pow Croft, £67.50 Stonehall and Satchells; Cheviot Mule £69 Satchells; Suffolk £67.50 Satchells; Masham £66 Pow Croft; Greyface £63, £60 Wanwood Hill, £59 Williamston, £57 Stonehall; Lleyn £59, £57 Dolphinston; Blackface £43.50 Clover Hill, £41 Dalveen.
