Longtown Store Sheep Sale Report

C&D Auction Marts Ltd had forward at their annual sale on Tuesday 7th January 2020, an entry of 5,883 store hoggs, cast rams and ewes at their Longtown mart.

A large and top-quality show of hoggs attracted buyers from all over the UK, trade was electric from the start and continued throughout the whole sale to record an overall average of £75.22.

Top £115 for a Beltex hogg from an outstanding consignment of 353 store hoggs from RJ Muir, Low Stanley who sold other pens at £106, £103 to average £85.69 overall. A big show of 257 cast rams met a very fast trade to average £82.73 overall.
