Longtown Store & Breeding Sheep Sale Report

C&D Auction Marts Ltd held their weekly sale of 3,410 store lambs at Longtown on Tuesday 11th August 2020.

A fantastic show of all breeds of store lambs were forward to a full ring side if both local and distant purchasers ensuring all classes sold to a very strong trade indeed.

Topping todays sale was an outstanding pen of 30 Beltex ewe lambs realising £119 consigned by Messrs Milburn, Wallend, with wethers from the same home to £101. A real pen of Texel x ewe lambs consigned by Messrs Hall, Horsley Hill realised £113 with several more pens breaching the £100 barrier. Suffolks topped at £94.50 for a pen of 30 very well-bred lambs consigned by J Anderson-Roskell, Ragithwhaite. A good entry of mules sold to fast trade selling to a top of £77.50 consigned by Messrs AF & LA Holes, Demense Farm, Bewcastle.

Incorporated in next week's sale is the annual special sale of Mule wether lambs.
