C&D Auctions held their weekly sale of Prime Sheep in Dumfries on Wednesday 20th August 2025.

Prime lambs were easier, keeping with the seasonal trend. Selling to £165 from Ferguson, Eastside and Wilson, Newmains. Sale average 315.2p/kg. Cast ewes easily maintained recent rates for a larger show forward. All types of ewes wanted on a weekly basis.

18 Lambs (32.1-39kg) averaged 302.01p/kg and topped at 315p/kg from Armstrong, Crawston

225 Lambs (39.1-45.5kg) averaged 314.61p/kg and topped at 333p/kg from Howatson, Burnhead

362 Lambs (45.6-52kg) averaged 316.49p/kg and topped at 324p/kg from Ferguson, Eastside, Henderson, Kirkbride and McMillan, Ballaggan

224 Heavy Ewes averaged £144.78 and topped at £262 from Wilson, Newmains
