Longtown Primestock Sale Report

C&D Auction Marts had forward an entry of 8,232 sheep
comprising of 3,715 lambs and  4,517 cast ewes & rams at their weekly sale
at Longtown Mart on Thursday 9th  October 2025.

PRIME LAMBS

A
smaller show of 3,715 prime lambs forward to the same ring of competitive
purchasers ensured all classes sold to vendor benefit. Albeit slightly easier
on the week.

Well
finished lambs were still in demand and under finished lambs are definitely
better sold here on a Tuesday in the store ring which is flying.

Topping
the sale was a Texel lambs consigned by M/s G Dinnie, Brigview realising 416.7ppk

Topping
per head was a heavy weight Texel lambs consigned again by M/s G Dinnie,
Brigview realising £200 per head.

Many
more well finished lambs can be sold to vendor advantage here at Longtown where
numbers are handled with ease in the most consistent market in the country.

Please
do not hesitate to contact our auctioneers for further enquiries.
