Dumfries OTM & Prime Cattle Report – 9 March 2026
C&D Auction Marts Ltd held their fortnightly sale of OTM and Prime Cattle at Dumfries. A plainer show forward but didn’t matter as everything sold to high returns with 11 active regular purchasers in attendance.
Top price today was £2618 from Richardson, Courstein for an 850kg Aberdeen Angus Cross cow. Mair of Meikleholm was up to £2486.25, £2436 & £2264.60. Southwick Estates were up to £2405 for a Stabiliser cow.
Dairy cows up to £1922 from More, Maxwellbank and £2052.75 from Burgoyne, Shenrick.
Beef Cows average 297.66p/kg to 345p/kg from Bell, North Bowerhouses and to £2618 from Richardson, Courstein.
Dairy Cows average 216.05p/kg to 258p/kg from Roan, Barnbarroch and to £2052.72 from Burgoyne, Shenrick.
Prime cattle met plenty of demand to 440p/kg & 410p/kg from Jardine, Yett to R Johnstone & Sons Butchers, Annan and M Helliwell.
