Dumfries Calf Report – 01 June 2026

C&D Auction Marts Ltd held their fortnightly sale of Rearing Calves at Dumfries on Monday. A large entry of mainly younger calves and a packed ringside ensured that calves were a pleasure to sell with trade being quite possibly the dearest to date.

Top price was £940 for a 3 month old Aberdeen Angus bull from Messrs Ramsay, Lodge of Kelton. Month to two month old calves stole the show once again with Hereford bulls and heifers both to £610 from Messrs Kyle, Linns. Black and Whites were off the clock achieving £660 on three occasions from Currie, Barndennoch. Special mention to first time consigner Cowan, Meikle Killantrae who’s two week old Holstein bulls achieved £330.

With Blue Tongue Cross Border Regulations coming in to force today. Purchasers and sellers will have full confidence at Dumfries Mart with purchasers having free movement to both sides of the border.
