NEW SEASON SPRING LAMBS

A much larger entry of 1,453 spring lambs sold to serious rates of return and vendors are urged to get through lambs and sell when the trade is on fire.

Heavy lambs were the trade of the day being way short of purchaser requirements. All classes of lambs are sold to vendor advantage and numbers are required on a weekly basis as more processors make the move form hoggs to lambs.

Top price per head of £292 for Texel lambs shown HM Martindale, The Land, Ecclefechan who also had others to £288

Top per kilo of 522p for Suffolks from Highfield Farming, Knock, Duns who also had others to 518ppk.

Lambs are in unprecedented demand and the trade is not to be over looked and should be taken advantage of. For all further enquiries please do not hesitate our team of auctioneers and fields personnel who will be delighted to take your calls and assist in the marketing of your livestock to realise their full potential.
