Dumfries OTM & Prime Cattle Report – 15 June 2026

C&D Auction Marts Ltd held their fortnightly sale of OTM and Prime Cattle at Dumfries. A cracking show of feeding cows forward today with all shapes and sizes well challenged. First time consigner Ross-Taylor of Littlegill, Abington topped the cows at £2736 and £2538. Dodd, Boreland of Southwick was up to £2339.20 and parlour cows up to £2241.75 from Murray, Conheath. Feeding cows by the kilo were topped by consecutive consigner Goldie, Greenfield at 315p/kg closely followed by Barr, Meikle Kirkland at 312p/kg. Parlour cows were up to 260p/kg from Sloan, Kirktonfield and 252p/kg by Austin, Upper Portrack. A strong Beef Shorthorn Bull achieved £2598.40 from Bradley-Farmer, Wester Parkgate.

Beef Cows to 315p/kg from Goldie, Greenfield and to £2736 from Ross-Taylor, Littlegill.

Dairy Cows to 260p/kg from Sloan, Kirktonfield and to £2369 from Murray, Conheath.

A small show of Prime Heifers was forward but met with a pleasing trade. Top price was £4.40/kg for a smart Limousin Heifer from Jardine, Yett. Jardine also had heifers to £4/kg respectively. McKelvey, Burnside consigned a pair of smart Charolais and Limousin Heifers achieving £4/kg & £3.90/kg.
