Dumfries Calf Report – 29 June 2026
C&D Auction Marts Ltd held their fortnightly sale of Rearing Calves at Dumfries on Monday. A good entry of some 70 head was forward with new buyers and new sellers in attendance and a very crowded ringside. A strong trade ensued. The sale was topped by a well-grown Aberdeen Angus cross bull calf from J. & R. Ramsay, Lodge of Kelton, Castle Douglas which sold for £1,050.00. A particular feature of the sale was an excellent entry of young Belted Galloway cross dairy calves from Langbarns; these showed great potential and attracted much interest.

Aberdeen Angus cross bull calves to £1,050.00 and £970.00;
British Blue cross bull calves to £840.00;
Hereford cross bull calves to £800.00;
Young Limousin cross bull calves to £470.00;
Young Belted Galloway cross bull calves to £610.00;
Holstein bull calves to £390;
British Blue cross heifer calves to £810.00;
Aberdeen Angus cross heifer calves to £720.00;
Hereford cross heifer calves to £780.00;
Young Belted Galloway cross heifer calves to £640.00.
