CAST EWES AND RAMS

Best ewes lift up a gear with 20 ewes selling in excess of £300. Heavy ewes remain a strong trade as recent weeks. Plainer ewes took a slight knock, proving harder to place with more coming on the market as the drought looks to be taking affect. More fleshed and best ewes needed here each week to satisfy the demand of 16 active buyers around ringside and could be sold to vendors’ advantage.

Heavy ewes topped at £370 for a Texel Ewe from W.S. Robson & Co, Yatesfield

Light ewes topped at £192 for a pair of Easycare Ewes from Faith Farms, Peattie Farm
