Dumfries Prime Sheep Report – 26 August 2026

C&D Auction Marts Ltd held their weekly sale of Prime Sheep in Dumfries. Big jump in averages today as 8 Buyers went to battle for all weights and classes. Heavy weights meeting the strongest competition. The sale was topped with Charolais Lambs at £221 from Wilson, Tinwald Shaws with Texel lambs from Hyslop, Maryfield making 386p/kg.

A lean show of Ewes and Rams todays were well bid for by a strong presence of Buyers. Greenshields, South Mains achieved £208 for Texel cross Ewes. Light Ewes achieved £130 from Cowhill Trust, Muirside for a pen of Cheviots.
