C&D Auction Marts Limited had a catalogue entry of 1,551 Lowland Breeding Sheep at their sale at Longtown on Wednesday 2nd September 2026.
Ewes sold to £330 for a 3 crop Texel from J. & S. Pittendrigh, Blaircochrane.
Gimmer shearlings topped at £310 for a pen of 34 Texels from A. & H.C. Smith, Crumhaughhill and also for Texels from J. & S. Pittendrigh, Blaircochrane. Mule shearlings to £292 from W. & W. Faulder, Thistledown.
Ewe lambs topped at £265 for Texels from M.J. Irvng, Braehead.
The highlight of todays sale was the dispersal of Cheviot Mule stock ewes from Archbank Farming Company who sold in full bloom, these sheep were presented to perfection and sold to £298 for one crops, £292 for two crops, £280 for three crops and £248 for four crops. In general, quality sheep were well sold , especially for sheep that were eligible to head back into Scotland.
