C & D Auction Marts held their weekly sale of 4,457 store lambs at Longtown on Tuesday 8th September 2026.
A larger show of store lambs on offer, as purchasers travel from all four corners of the country looking for numbers. Topping the sale was a pen of Texel lambs from DA & MA Teasdale, Grindon Hill realising £148, many more needed each week.
Opening sale of Cheviots and Blackfaces sold to a huge ring of customers and to a very strong demand for both breeds. Topping at £117 for both breeds. Please note Show and sale of Cheviot store lambs next week which is WEDNESDAY 16th September 2026 in pens of 25 and above, show will commence at 9:30am.

A larger show of feeding ewes forward met by a strong demand for all classes. Topping the sale was a Texel ewe from F Allinson, Glen Stables realising £150. Many more feeding sheep needed every week to fulfil buyer’s demand.

STORE CATTLE
A select show of store cattle forward to a brisk trade, ensuring all classes sol above vendor expectations. Topping the sale on two separate occasions was M/s CT & J Wigham & Sons, Heathermill, Kirklinton who sold angus and limousine steers to realise £1,900 x 4.
Many more cattle can be sold at Longtown to vendor advantage and early entries would be appreciated.
