C&D Auction Marts Ltd held their fortnightly sale of Store Cattle at Dumfries which included the Autumn Sale of Organic Cattle.

105 Organic Cattle; A steady trade for all classes selling to £2100 (454.4p/kg) for Limousin Bullocks from Gibb, Toftcombs who also sold Heifers at £2000 (427p/kg). Bullock average 410p/kg and Heifers average e385p/kg.

390 Non Organic Cattle; Full attendance of Buyers present with trade maintaining recent levels. Feature of the sale was the consignment of 50 British Blue cross Saler Heifers (17 month old) from Ballie, Low Glasnick which sold to £2550 and levelled at £2230 or (479.6p/kg). Bullocks from Glenkiln Farms realised £2310 and to 444.7p/kg from McMillan, Ballaggan. Heifers to £2550 from Ballie, Low Glasnick to average 408p/kg.
