Dumfries Calf Report – 21 September 2026
C&D Auction Marts Ltd held their fortnightly sale of Rearing Calves at Dumfries. A strong entry of both weaned and milk calves forward today. Reaching £840 for an Aberdeen Angus bull calf from Messrs Armitstead, Pennersaughs. Hutton, Buittle Mains achieved £700 for a Hereford heifer and Barr, Meikle Kirkland also achieved £700 for Charolais heifer.
Calves on milk were in serious demand today selling to £460 for Belted Galloway bulls and heifers from Torr Organic, with Black and White Calves achieving £370 twice from Fingland, Tarbreoch.

Simmental – £780 Pennersaughs
Belted Galloway – £460(x3) Torr
Limousin – £420(x2) Ryemuir
Holstein – £370(x2) & £320 Tarbreoch, £300 Ryemuir, £290(x2) Tarbreoch, £260(x2) Fellend
Heifer principal prices:-
Charolais – £700 Meikle Kirkland
Hereford – £700 Buittle Mains
Limousin – £480 Grains
