Dumfries OTM & Prime Cattle Report – 07 September 2026

C&D Auction Marts Ltd held their fortnightly sale of OTM and Prime Cattle at Dumfries. Both volume and prices were up on the fortnight. A muckle entry of 140 OTM’s and 8 Cast Bulls were forward at his growing OTM sale. Plain Cows remain broadly unchanged on the fortnight, while Beef Cows are commanding stronger prices.

Beef Cows were up to £2408 from Smyth, Henderland and Davies, Low Peninver travelled from Argyll achieving £2312.40 and also top the p/kg at 338p.

Dairy Cows very similar with plainer show forward. Anything carrying flesh seen a premium. Cows topped at £2214.30 from Murray, Conheath, with Brown, Millaires topped the p/kg at 282p.

Clean cattle met a pleasing trade with Jardine, Yett and McKelvey, Burnside both achieving 4.25p/kg.
