Dumfries Prime Sheep Report – 22 April 2026
C&D Auction Marts Ltd held their weekly sale of Prime Sheep in Dumfries. Small show of hoggs presented to an increased attendance of buyers. Well finished hoggs easily sold. Texel hoggs to £224 from Laird, East Polquhirter which Cheviot cross hoggs from Lewis, Glendarroch realising 420p/kg. Overall average 372.1p/kg (SQQ 390.8p/kg).
Cast ewes sold at improved rates topping at £270 for Suffolk cross rams from Mair, Meikleholm, ewe to £252 from Quigley, Craigielandshill.
Hoggs (32.1-39kg) averaged 373.5p/kg and topped at 406p/kg from Wilson, Marwhirn
