Dumfries Store and Breeding Sheep Report
C&D Auctions held their Annual Ram Fair in Dumfries on Friday 3rd October 2025.
A huge turnout of buyers were in attendance. Rams with power and style were in big demands. The Texel section was topped on two occasions at £1400 from Hiddleston, Newmains to Miller, Beltonhill and to Wright, Hunthills. Respectively with others to Beltex Shearlings to £1200 from Goodfellow, Townfoot to Mundell, Victoria House. Texel two shear rams to £850 from Thomson, Lanarkland. Lleyn two shear rams to £750 from Kingan, Laneside. Ram lambs easily sold with Suffolks selling to £850 from Slaven, Foregirth to Tanlawhill Farming. Bluefaced Leicester rams met keen interest selling to £1050 from Hamilton, Kirkton of Crawford to Hallscaure Farming.

Breeding sheep attracted plenty of interest with Texel Gimmers achieving £300 from Wright, Huntills.

Store lambs were of good quality. Texel lambs topped the sale at £128 from Hunt, Bushcroft. Many more lambs could be sold weekly. Please note that our opening Wednesday Store lamb sale will be held on 8th October before the Prime Sale.
