Dumfries Store & Breeding Cattle Sale Report

C&D Auctions held their fortnightly sale of 553 store cattle in Dumfries which included 134 Organic status cattle on Monday 31st March 2025.

The organic cattle were extremely well bid with Hamilton, Woolfords selling a pen of 10 month Charolais’s heifer at £2220 or 567.20p/kg, bullocks from the same home reached £2180 or 619.4p/kg. Organic Bullocks averaged 524.47p/kg or £1893.33. Organic Heifers averaged 472.25p/kg or £1655.59

Non organic cattle were presented to a huge ringside of buyers with trade continuing to meet an upward trend. Bullocks average 433.55p/kg to 508.7p/kg from Taylor, High Crubasdale or £2620 from Wilson, Marwhirn. Heifers averaged 414.6p/kg to 532.5p/kg from Herries Farms, Lantonside or £2340 from Bell, Cormaddie. Bulls averaged 358.82p/kg to 440p/kg from MacDonald, Drumyeonmore or £1450 Anderson, Rowanburnfoot.
