Dumfries Store Cattle & Breeding Cattle Report – 15 June 2026

C&D Auction Marts Ltd held their fortnightly sale of Store Cattle at Dumfries. A pleasing entry of 180 Store Cattle were forward and were sold to a strong ringside of new and returning purchasers. Top price today went to Ewart, Belridding topping at £2300 for a very smart Limousin Heifer. Returning customer Ewing of Dumbretton, Annan was up to £1980 for Limousin Heifers. Regular consigner Ramsay, High Auchneel was up to £1960 for Simmental Heifers. Graham, Midtown seen £1920 for a lovely Limousin Bullock and first time consigner Hodge of Coldchapel, Abington consigned a run of 8-9m Charolais Bullocks and Heifers comfortably achieving £1780. Magnay, Smallholms achieved 497p/kg for Bullocks and 489.9p/kg for Heifers was achieved by McBryde of Lochbank, Lockerbie.

A small show of Breeding Cattle was forward with Aberdeen Angus Bulls reaching £3700 & £3400 from Ross-Taylor, Littlegill. Heifers and Calves topped at £2700 from Sinclair, Kirland. In calf cows topped at £1980 for second calvers from Magin, Dunmore Hill Kennels.

Bullocks average 405.5p/kg to 497p/kg from Magnay, Smallholms and to £1920 from Graham, Midtown.

Heifers average 384.1p/kg to 489.9p/kg from McBryde, Lochbank and to £2300 from Ewart, Belridding.
