C&D Auctions conducted the annual Spring sale of Hereford and Aberdeen Angus Bulls at Mains of Airies, Stranraer on behalf of John Douglas and Family on Thursday 5th February 2026.

A cold breezy morning did not detract buyers from heading to South West Scotland, for the unpampered, natural shown 2 year old Bulls on offer. Along with Online bidding via MartEye a 100% clearance was achieved with the average £3733.33 (up £966.33 on the year).

The Line 1 Hereford breeding continues to attract a strong demand with J Frame, Birks paying £5000 for Towford L1 Achievement 333465. A light birthweight bull from the L1 Achievement family.

Another at £5000 was Ervie L1 Advance 243323 from L1 Peach family finding a new home at Mackilston, Dalry with the McTurk family.

£4000 was paid for Ervie L1 Advance 243326 from the Pansy family heading to D Clark, Meikle Isle.

Next best at £3600 on three occasions for Ervie L1 Advance 243399, Towford L1 Achiever and Ervie L1 Achiever 24310 selling to Baltersan Farming, I Turtle of Clendrie and R&I Watson of High Borgue.

The Aberdeen Angus Bulls all shown naturally created plenty of stir with the days. Top price of £5800 being paid by G McKie of Ballaird for Airies Salvador A315. AK Hill Agri Contracts, Wishaw then purchased Airies Salvador A309 at £5600.

Welsh farmers AB Farming, Flintshire made the long journey North and successfully purchased Airies Salvador A297 at £5400.

£5000 was next best for Airies Salvador A301 purchased by AB Young, Nether Gribton. Wigtownshire farmers WM Hutchison, Low Mains bought Airies Salvador A306 at £4800.
