Longtown Mart Store & Breeding Sheep Report – 24 February 2026

C & D Auction Marts held their weekly sale of 2,756 store hoggs at Longtown on Tuesday 24th February 2026.

Store hoggs hit the highest rates of returns seen to date for a mixed show on offer. Short term hoggs regularly between £135 to £150. Longer keeping sheep in high demand with new faces appearing around ringside on the look for numbers.

Topping the sale was a Beltex Hogg from R S Conley & Son, Barrasford Green realising £166.

Feeding ewes remain very much in line with last week’s trade likewise the hoggs numbers needed each week to fulfil purchaser’s demand. Topping the sale was Texel cross ewe from M Cousin, The Laws realising £180. Many more feeding sheep needed every week to fulfil buyer’s demand.
