A special sale of traditional breed and fancy poultry was incorporated into the Longtown Mart Christmas Show on Saturday 7th December 2024 and proved a great success. 

145 good quality lots were forward and with over one hundred registered bidders trade was strong throughout.

A trio of 2024 Light Sussex Bantams from P. English, Carlisle topped the sale, selling at £170 to Ross Dawson, Dacre. 

A trio of Copper Black Marans from B.E. Dunn, Gainford went at £150 to Killacraw Farms, Kintyre and a pair of Exhibition Black Runner Ducks from G. Seedall, Clitheroe came in at £140.

Others sold to £120 for a trio of Indian Game Fowl;  £110 for a pair of Silver Call Ducks; £110 for a trio of Large Saxony Ducks; £110 for three Miniature Crested Female Ducks; £105 for three Partridge Pullet Bantams; £105 for a trio of Large Magpie Ducks; £100 for an Abacot Drake with Silver Call Duck; £100 each for two pairs of Dewlap Toulouse Geese and £100 for a Pair of Wyandotte Large Fowl.
