Longtown Primestock Sale Report
C&D Auction Marts had forward an entry of 6,859
sheep comprising of 46 Spring Lambs, 4,249 hoggs and 2,569 cast ewes & rams
at their weekly sale at Longtown Mart on Thursday 1st May 2025.
SPRING LAMBS
An increased entry of commercial spring lambs sold to
a very competitive trade with more being required on a weekly basis to satisfy
purchaser demand.
Topping the sale were 3 Suffolks realising £180 from
HM Martindale, The Land.
Top price per kilo were 3 Texel lambs at 394.9p from

still a big trade. Lightweight ewes continued at recent high rates of return
